Friday mornings. Sun and warm weather. Yes, indeed so you can wear a dress and short tights. A small town in Provence houses a castle and a monastery. In culture country France is the round trip of course free for all EU citizens under 25. In a good half hour I was a Danish citizen and experienced medieval tower with great views and dungeons from the 15th century.
Then bar ride down into the village itself to a cozy little square where lunch and coffee waiting. Joda. It was idyllic as only France can do it. Not less than four restaurants were brimming in the sun, and in the middle of the square run kids happy around.
The pace decreases burger van in a way a little when coming in such surroundings. Then it was perhaps not surprising that luncheon suddenly lasted two hours, just in time to catch the bus before the skies opened up for the spring rain. A dream image, I call it. In reality burger van it was Villeneuve, a few kilometers outside Avignon. One of the many lovely villages in the area.
