Our time in Thailand has flown. We have a half day on the bus sat Krabi direction Hat Yai where we took the overnight train to Kuala Lumpur. This was by far the best and cleanest train (and cheapest even) that we have had.
At the border the train 10min stopped. Just get off and let it put stamps in the passport and move on. We went around 5am arrive at the central station, just a few stations used to be the train stopped because there was a power outage. This was pretty good for us because now we could sleep a little longer. At 8 am we arrived at the station.
The taxi driver did not put us off at the hotel, but near it. Small problem without card ... We have an hour walking around the streets of Chinatown before we found our hotel. The rooms were the smallest we have ever had: 2m to 3m with single bunk in it. Not really the freshest rooms, but come it was only for 3 nights and the best option in Kuala Lumpur. By noon, Sam and Kim had arrived at the hotel. After a happy reunion, we have some catching up, and in the afternoon we walked through big cinema alor setar mall the markets in Chinatown.
We also went to a mall with the skytrain where the ladies have shopped big cinema alor setar mall and moons have been to the cinema. We have a parcel sent home which took an hour to complete. All the trimmings: box, tape and a whole roll of cling film!
We have also applied our Indonesian visas for 60 days here. Everything went well. We knew going in that we had to be dressed genteel: no shorts, big cinema alor setar mall no slippers, no tank tops, ... Kim's shoulders were not covered and the man at the counter asked her to first need to "cover up" before returning. All we could do that was with katrien her skirt stuck in her pocket. Then try to stay serious!
We have of course the Petronas Towers seen and walked around in the park and Starbucks inside cut. We have not been on the bridge between the two towers big cinema alor setar mall because it was really expensive and did not appear high.
Kuala Lumpur was a good stop to stock up on that we would not find in Borneo. All necessary things Western We have at our hotel also done some research on Borneo. The turtles and orang utans are high on the list. It all seems very difficult to get. At the desired locations One thing is certain: it is an adventure!
